From Jackson, a wet 50 miles to Togwotee Mt. lodge, with a few minutes spent in a ditch waiting out lighting. After setting up tent at park service site, nonetheless gratefully accepted an offer for a couch and shower; in the morning, park rangers drive down to post bear warnings, cautioning against an increasingly surly brown bear in the area.
A hitch 20 miles over the wet pass the next day to beers at Lava Mt. Lodge and an inexpensive roof over my head. Next, 40-50 miles before being pinned down by lightning while crossing a field, finally figuring shivering more dangerous, bolting for a nice tent spot in the Shoshone National Forrest, and last night for brown bears (one thinks).
From Pinedale, onto Rawlins 220 miles away!
